CURRENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS:

Observer of Beautiful Forms
Concerto for piano and orchestra, commissioned by the EPCOR Centre in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Calgary Centre for the Performing Arts. To be premiered in September, 2010, by pianist Georgy Tchaidze (Esther Honens 2009 Laureate) and the Calgary Philharmonic.

New solo works for flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon
Thanks to an Artist Grant awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts, Jeff will be writing new solo works in collaboration with Vancouver virtuosi Mark McGregor (flute), Beth Orson (oboe/English horn), Cris Inguanti (clarinet/bass clarinet), and Sophie Dansereau (bassoon/contrabassoon). Project continues throughout 2010.

The Whitening of the Ox
For baritone voice and large ensemble, commissioned by New Music Concerts. With poetry by K.V. Skene. To be premiered Spring 2011.

String Quartet #4
Commissioned by Music Toronto for the Tokyo Quartet. To be premiered Fall 2011.

Brazen
Concerto for alto saxophone, strings and percussion, commissioned by Julia Nolan.

Ruth
One-act opera with libretto by Michael Lewis MacLennan, currently in development with Tapestry New Opera.
